Week 3 – One Room Challenge Farm Living Room

May 20, 2021 by kaitlynloos No Comments

Week 3 of the One Room Challenge for our Farm house living room has definitely been a week of planning. Because those who have hired me for interior design know very well – I like to plan before we start bringing product in. And while the first week I shared the initial mood board for the project, I’ve created a materials and color palette mood board this week with updates from the products I’ve been sourcing.

10 Designer Inspired Organization Ideas

October 23, 2020 by kaitlynloos No Comments

For any given category of home items, there’s SO many different ways to organize any given one. If you took my recent Decluttering Personality Type Quiz, I’ve received feedback that just taking it has inspired decluttering projects. As a type 3, I’m a closet connoisseur of organization inspo of all kinds. So in wanting to share some visually stunning organization ideas with you, I went to search the entirety of my Pinterest boards, and had pages and pages of options. Budget Home Essentials – Holiday Edition

October 20, 2020 by kaitlynloos No Comments

So my very first blog post “Where to Shop Budget Home Essentials” is definitely one of my most referenced articles on this whole site. This is probably because it’s SO on-brand for what I do for people. The process goes a little something like this… 1) I need something for my house or a client project. 2) I end up shopping between 2-7 different stores and give myself a total headache until I find something that I’m satisfied with the price and quality. 3) I share where I found said “thing” and why you should shop for similar items there. 4) You benefit from my picky and budget-friendly ways. So I thought I’d put together a similar list for the holidays for you, because if there’s any time of year you’d like to save a little money to use elsewhere, it’s now! Back by popular “demand”, I present the Budget Home Essentials – Holiday Edition list!

What’s IN & What’s OUT in 2020 Pt. 2

September 24, 2020 by kaitlynloos No Comments

So the follow up to What’s In and What’s Out Pt. 1 was a little challenging in sourcing the images for the what’s out examples. While there’s no problem whatsoever showing what we ripped out or changed in our current home, I hesitate to show client “before” photos. Or even pictures from other bloggers if we’re going to slap my “OUT OF STYLE” label on it! But it’s important to visually show you the differences of what’s in and out of style. Below is part two of my list of the top 10 design trends people are getting the heck out of their homes/lives in 2020.

Is Your Home Ready for the Holidays?

September 19, 2020 by kaitlynloos No Comments

December is historically my favorite month of the whole year – but it can be a lot! It can feel like three months crammed into one. In my event planning and interior design experience, I’ve learned a little prep goes a LONG way. Especially this time of year! But I’m noticing many folks having unrealistic expectations of what projects can be completed before the big “game days.” And this can add to unnecessary stress! So today I’m issuing this check-in quiz with straight-forward answers on whether your home is ready for the holidays or not. [Click to skip my back-story and jump to Is Your Home Ready for the Holidays quiz now!]

One interesting thing about this luxury home's story is that the floor plan was built as a replica of the client's former house in another state. (Shout out to Curington Homes for making this happen!)

But when it came to finishes, they wanted to refresh the look with more modern and edgy details, which is where we came in! Every corner of this home is a stunner, but here we can only share 10.

We love that this captured the best of a floor plan a client already knew and loved with new finishes that feel more in line with their style.
