Weeks 3 & 4 of One Room Challenge: Add to Cart/Truck

Welcome back to my One Room Challenge (ORC) journey! If you’re new here, the ORC is a biannual event where interior designers, bloggers, and DIY enthusiasts transform one room in their home in just eight weeks. In weeks 1 and 2, I shared my plans for my she shed, which you can catch up on here and here. In this update, I’ll be sharing the combined progress I’ve made in weeks 3 and 4 (because life!) The theme of the last two weeks has been “add it to the cart/truck!”

As you might know if you’ve been following a while, I’m really big on my “strategy first” framework. But we knew this project up front would require some flexibility. And that’s absolutely been the case the past two weeks.

I had a ton of work deadlines in the last two weeks. This made it difficult to find time to work on the shed. However, I’m proud of the fact that I didn’t let my busy schedule derail my progress entirely.

My original sketch/plan for the space. The exterior will be a big change!

So let’s catch up! Last weekend, I walked into one of my favorite second-hand stores looking for interior flooring, and instead stumbled upon a great deal on 24 x 24 pavers I couldn’t resist.

Instead of focusing solely on the interior of the shed, I’ve been recalibrating to fully commit to making this exterior awesome. As any experienced DIYer will know, it’s never JUST the pavers you need. There’s paver base, framing, stones, and some additional planning we’ll need to space and place them exactly right.

In addition to the pavers, I ordered the new paint sprayer and decided on my exterior paint color! We’re going with Sherwin Williams Oleander. I purchased and painted a sample of the paint on the door, and I’m loving the way it looks. I love how much brighter and joyful this color is than the original gray.

The shed roof looks much better now that I swept the roof off a bit. I also spent some time updating my budget/plans with the new supplies I discovered I’ll need and doing some online research for what I’ll need to buy and do next. Wish me luck with my first time using a paint sprayer!

Stay tuned for more.

And Bobo says hi!
